Lake Tahoe is considered the crown jewel of the Sierra Nevada’s and is the crown jewel for the Northern California and Northern Nevada wedding industry. There are so many breathtaking wedding venues that surround the lake and surrounding mountain towns for couples to pick from to host their wedding festivities at. I’ve been lucky enough to have been photographing weddings in the greater Tahoe area since 2007 and have nearly captured nuptials at all of the local event centers and venues. With that I’ve compiled a list of nearly all of the local Tahoe wedding venues for you to look at. This wedding venue guide is a great resource for newly engaged couples to explore and hopefully find their dream location. Lake Tahoe is a huge area, so this event center guide will have venues from the south shore, north shore, west shore, east shore and the Truckee and Donner area.
Tahoe Blue Estate
Tahoe Blue Estate is located high above South Lake Tahoe a top of Kingsburry Grade in Stateline Nevada. This massive private estate wedding venue caters to smaller weddings and elopements with a maximum guest count of 75. Personally I would have to say that this venue has the most amazing views of Lake Tahoe out of any venue in the surround area. The estate is situated right on the edge of the mountain, which lets you view and create beautiful sunset photos. The ceremony location is held out back on the edge of the mountain, which supplies those stunning Tahoe views. Receptions can take place in a couple areas around the grounds with one of them being inside the expansive mansion. Reception events can also take place outside of the estate on the surround property. This location is set up to host weddings and elopements year around, which makes it a desirable venue to tie the knot at.

West Shore Cafe and Inn
West Shore Cafe is one of the very few Lake Tahoe wedding venues that is located on the lake shore. This venue has so much beauty and charm to it. This venue is an all inclusive event center. The inn has a small amount of rooms for your guest and you to stay at. The ceremony site is located on a grassy lawn next to the cafe that butts up to the rocky lake shore. Their private lake front pier is also another location for wedding ceremonies. Receptions can take place on the water front patio and also inside the restaurant area of the cafe. When all the reception events are done for the night dancing will take place inside the on the main floor of the cafe. This wedding venue is a must see.

Sugar Bowl Resort and Lake Mary
Sugar Bowl ski resort it located on the top of Donner Pass and is one of those hidden gems of North Lake Tahoe and Truckee. The venue has so much to offer couples in terms of locations and options on how to plan your special day. Ceremonies take place on their forested lawn next to the lodge. Cocktail hour can take place on top of the mountain with breath taking views or back down at the lodge on the huge reception deck and lawn. Dinner and dancing will also take place on the this outdoor deck. Smaller weddings and events have the option to take place at Lake Mary, which is a picturesque venue and a must see if you’re planning a smaller wedding. Lake Mary is a private high alpine lake that you’ll have all to yourself during your big day. The views at this site are beyond words.

The Chateau at Incline Village
The Chateau at Incline Village is perched a top of the championship golf course in the mountain tow of Incline Village. This clubhouse and venue is surround by a pine tree forest with filtered views of Lake Tahoe and the surround golf course greens. The ceremony site is located right next to the club house on one of the golf course’s giant tee boxes. There is also another ceremony location that is situated in the nearby forest. Receptions and dinners will take place inside the massive ballroom of the clubhouse. With their ballroom being so big they’re able to house events year around, since ceremonies can also take place indoors here.

Edgewood Tahoe
Edgewood Tahoe is located in the heart of South Lake Tahoe next to the waters edge. This wedding venue and luxury hotel and spa is situated around the championship golf course. There are three wedding locations on site at Edgewood. The first two are located at the golf course clubhouse. Both of these areas ceremony sites are located right on the shoreline of Tahoe. This resort is on of the few event centers that is located on the lakeshore. Receptions will take place in the clubhouse ballrooms. The main factor in picking one comes down to the size of your wedding guest count. Weddings can also be hosted at the main hotel ballrooms and lake front lawn. Edgewood is also one of the few locations in Tahoe area that can hold weddings year around.

Round Hills Pines Beach Resort
Round Hills Pines Beach Resort is located just outside the casino area of South Lake Tahoe in Zephyr Cove Nevada. This Tahoe wedding venue is located right on the sandy shores of the lake. The ceremony site is situated right on the waters edge with clear views of Mt. Tallac and the other west shore mountains across the way. Just steps away from the ceremony site is the reception area for dinner and events. This venue has a huge waterfront pier that jets out onto the lake. The pier at sunset makes for some amazing wedding photos or for that matter anytime of the day it’s a great spot for pictures. If you’re looking for a beach front resort of your special day you should give them a visit.

Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe
The Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe Resort and Spa is located in the town of Incline Village, Nevada. The Hyatt is located on the sandy east shores of the lake. One of the ceremony locations is located right on the waters edge on the beach. There is also a forest ceremony site with filtered lake views that is equally beautiful. This venue is also a hotel, which means you and your guest can stay at this location during your event. Reception events and meals take place in the lakeside ballrooms and boast lake views out of the giant wall of windows. Larger receptions can be hosted outside at the forested ceremony site. This event center can host weddings year around.

Zephyr Lodge at Northstar Resort
Zephyr Lodge at Northstar Resort is located at the top of the ski resort at 8,610 feet. Once your guest and you take the two ski lift rides up to the lodge you’ll be greeted by some of the most amazing views of the surrounding Sierra mountains and the town of Truckee. The ceremony site is located right on the edge of the mountain top, which shows off those amazing views. Receptions events and dinners will take place inside the massive Zephyr Lodge, which reminds me of a vintage ski lodge. This wedding venue definitely has that wow factor and has some of the best mountain top views of any venue in the surrounding area. This site also has many onsite accommodations for your guest and you to stay at.

Resort at Squaw Creek
The Resort at Squaw Creek is located in the heart of the Olympic Valley. This hotel and golf course is surround by the iconic high alpine meadow and tall pine tree forest. This high end resort comes equipped with a championship golf course for you to play on. There are many ceremony locations to pick from at Squaw Creek, which all have amazing views of the high mountain tops and surrounding valley floor. Receptions and meals can also be hosted at many locations around the resort grounds. You also have the option of having indoor events too. With this Squaw Creek is able to host events year around.

The Lodge at Tahoe Donner
The Lodge at Tahoe Donner is located in Truckee California and is surrounded by one of the local golf courses in North Lake Tahoe area. Weddings are hosted here are seasonally and located in the huge, white reception tent. The reception tent is place right next to the edge of the golf course and forest.The ceremony site is located adjacent to the tent on a huge grassy lawn that is surrounded by tall pine trees. The ceremony and reception site is located out back behind the Lodge at Tahoe Donner. During June and July the wild Lupine flowers bloom around the grounds making from some great wedding pictures. This venue is also one of those hidden gems of the north lake area.

Squaw Valley Resort
Squaw Valley Resort is located at the end of the Olympic Valley on the North side of Lake Tahoe. This is one of the most picturesque mountain valleys in all of Tahoe. There are a couple ceremony sites around the resort with one being right next to the Olympic Lodge. This ceremony area is located on a lush green lawn next to the lodge with views of Squaw Valley. Inside the lodge is where the reception party and dinner will take place at. If you’re looking for a wedding location with amazing views of the whole valley and the lake then look no further than High Camp. The ceremony site is located a top of the upper deck at High Camp which gives you unobstructed views of the surround area and Lake Tahoe. The Terrace Room is where your reception will take place at High Camp. This area is located right on the cliffside and has huge floor to ceiling windows that give you those same amazing views. The bonus of having your wedding up their is you get to take the Squaw Valley tram up to your wedding festivities.

Valhalla Tahoe
Valhalla Tahoe is located in South Lake Tahoe on the historical Tallac site. This charming wedding venue is situated in a tall pine tree forest that is a stones throw from the beaches and water front of the Camp Richardson area. Wedding ceremonies take place inside the Valhalla Grand Hall, which is an old historical dance hall. Reception events and dancing will also take place inside the grand hall. Cocktail hour can be held outside amongst the tall pine trees and manicured lawn. Valhalla Tahoe is one of the few venues that is located right on the shores of Tahoe. Having access to the waterfront beaches and public pier will give you great opportunities for wedding pictures. Plus your guest will have a fun time exploring the area the historic grounds, when not partaking in your wedding festivities.

Riva Grill
Riva Grill is a restaurant and event center located right on the sandy shores of South Lake Tahoe. This venue is situated in the heart of the south shore next to the Ski Run Marina. Wedding ceremonies here take place right behind the grill on the sandy beach, which provides the lake as your backdrop. When your nuptials are over the rest of your events will take place back at the grill on the second story. The second story of the restaurant is where they host all of their special events, dinners and dancing. This location is one of the few lakeside wedding venues in the greater Tahoe area. This provides you with the ability to tie the knot next the waters edge and give you that unique opportunity to have lakefront wedding pictures.

Twenty Mile House
Twenty Mile House is located outside of Truckee in the small Sierra mountain town of Cromberg California. This wedding venue is an all inclusive event location that has on site cabins for you and some of your guest to stay in during your wedding day. This amazing wedding venue is situated on 200 acres of pristine forest land that has the Middle Fork of the Feather River flow through it. Their ceremony site is located in a tall stand of pine trees and another site is located on the banks of the Feather River. The reception area is located right next to the grand old stagecoach house and general store. This wedding venue is a must see if you’re looking for a seclude all in one wedding venue.

Zephyr Cove Resort
Zephyr Cove Resort is located on the south shore of Lake Tahoe just outside of Stateline in Zephyr Cove Nevada. The ceremony site is located on the shore line of lake, which will leave you with an amazing backdrop during your ceremony. Just up the sandy hill side is the reception area that is situated on a grassy lawn in the shade of the pine tree forest. Hellman-Ehrman Mansion
Ehrman Mansion is located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe at Sugar Pine Point State Park. This historic grand estate is situated on top of a of a grassy hill that over looks it’s water front pier and Tahoe shore line. The ceremony site is located at the bottom of the hill right next to the waters edge, which gives you Lake Tahoe as your ceremony backdrop. Ceremonies can also take place next the Mansion in front of the garden gazebo. Both locations are stunning. Receptions, dinners and dancing will take place right next to the mansion on a flat grassy lawn. This venue is one of a few locations that is located next to the lakeshore of Tahoe and one of the few that is situated on the west shore. The grounds at this historic estate are well kept up and has an amazing shore line and pier. This area makes for some breathtaking wedding photos.

PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn
PlumpJack Squaw Valley Inn is located at the end of the Olympic Valley right across the street from the bottom tram station at Squaw Valley ski resort. This wedding and event center is an all inclusive location with having hotel rooms for guest to stay at. PlumpJack is also one of the few locations that’s able to host events year around. The ceremony site is located on the backend of the property that is surrounded by pine and aspen trees. It has amazing views of the giant rocky cliff faces of Squaw. Cocktail hour and receptions can take place at the back at the hotel and around the outdoor pool area. There is also an indoor ballroom area in which the reception events can take place at.

The Landing Tahoe Resort & Spa
The Landing Tahoe Resort and Spa is located right on the California Nevada border in South Lake Tahoe. It’s one of the few lake front hotels on the south shore of Tahoe. The Landing has it all from hotel rooms, ceremony site, reception tent and access to a Tahoe beach. The ceremonies take place on their second story deck, which overlooks Tahoe. The outdoor deck area provides you with an amazing backdrop as you tie the knot. Cocktail hour can also take place up on the deck or in the back by the reception tent. Near the back of the property is the massive reception tent. This is where your dinner, dancing and events will take place for the night. Across the street from The Landing is Lakeside Beach. You’ll have access to this beach at any point during your wedding day to take photos at. This is a must for those classic sunset Tahoe wedding photos. This is one of the few lakefront venues on the south shore.

Lake Tahoe Golf Course
Lake Tahoe Golf Course is located just outside of the city South Lake Tahoe in the town of Meyers California. The golf course is located on the edge of a giant alpine meadow with the Upper Truckee River running through the property. The ceremony site is located just behind the clubhouse and takes place on one of the giant grassy golf tee boxes. This ceremony location has unique views of the surrounding mountains and Mt. Tallac. Receptions will be hosted place back at the clubhouse in the banquet room. You will also have access to the outdoor patio area next to the banquet room. This deck area will allow for more guest and outside dinning and dancing during the summer months. This event center has a ton of locations for wedding photos and with access to golf carts to drive around the property makes it even more expansive. They area also able to host weddings year around.

Lakeside Beach Weddings
Weddings at Lakeside Beach is situated in South Lake Tahoe right on the California and Nevada border. This venue only host wedding ceremonies, but is one of the very few wedding venues that is located right on the lakeshore. They do offer packages to near by hotels that can accommodate wedding dinners and receptions. Lakeside beach is located on a sandy beach that meets up to the shoreline. This ceremony area is surrounded by tall pine trees and has a manicured lawn that runs right up to the beach ceremony site. They offer many time slots for ceremonies through out the day for couples to pick from. This is a perfect place to elope at or have a small micro wedding at.

Ritz Carlton Lake Tahoe is located high above Truckee California on the slopes of Northstar Ski Resort. This elegant hotel and wedding venue is a must see for couple’s getting married in the north Tahoe and Truckee area. They have two outdoor ceremony locations on site. One of the ceremony sites is nestled in the woods, while the other is out in a mountain meadow. All their receptions and dinners are held in the hotels luxury ballrooms. Gar Woods Grill and Pier is situated on the water front of North Tahoe in Carnelian Bay. Next to Gar Woods is where your ceremony will take place. The waterfront ceremony site is located a huge grassy lawn that gives you unobstructed views of lake and surround mountains. They also have their own private pier for you to use for your wedding pictures. Receptions and dinners take place on the second story of this iconic restaurant. When you're up in the reception room you’ll have amazing views of Tahoe and Carnelian Bay area. This venue also has it’s own waterfront pier for couples to access and take photos on. This is a great spot for sunset photos.

North Tahoe Event Center
North Tahoe Event Center is located on the shoreline of the town of Kings Beach, California. The event center is located in the center of town and just a stones throw from the water. Ceremonies take place right behind the event center building on a patio that ends right on beach. You’ll have Tahoe as your backdrop during your nuptials. After the ceremony you’ll have access to the beach and patio for your wedding photos. Just down the beach is the public pier, which is always a win for sunset portraits. Once you’re ready to eat and dance the night away, you’ll enter the event center building. The nice thing about having this ballroom as your reception area is you’ll always be able to beat the weather if it’s too hot or cold outside. The Ridge Tahoe
The Ridge Tahoe Resort is located in South Lake Tahoe at the top of Kingsbury grade right next the Heavenly Ski Resort Nevada side day lodge. The Ridge is one big timeshare and hotel area, so they’ll be plenty of rooms for your guest and you to stay in during your wedding events. They have an outdoor and indoor ceremony location, so they're able to host weddings year around. The outdoor ceremony site is located right of the ridge of the mountain top with stunning views of the surrounding mountains and the Washoe Valley below. The indoor ceremony location is located in the reception area of the lodge. The reception site is located in the main hotels lodge area. They have one huge ballroom area where your dinner and dancing will take place at.

Heavenly Ski Resort
Heavenly Ski Resort is located on the south shore of Lake Tahoe. The main lodge and tram is located on the California side of the ski area. Most all weddings will take place up the mountain at the Lakeview Lodge. The exciting part about getting to this wedding venue is taking the long ride up the aerial tram to the ceremony and reception site. When you're a top of the mountain at the lodge you have the most unforgettable views of the Tahoe area and south shore. The ceremony site it located right at the edge of the mountain top before it rolls over into a ski run. This location gives you one of the best ceremony backdrops that Tahoe has to offer. Receptions and dinners will take place just steps away in the Lakeview Lodge. At the end of the night you’ll be able to enjoy that tram ride back down to the bottom of the mountain in the dark, which is also quite exciting.
